The Studio

Tradition, Passion, and Artistry

We are Teena Dickerson and Stephen Ukrainetz. We are part of a growing movement of artisans who enjoy both the benefits of old and new technology. The modern artisan can create work using traditional techniques while embracing new technology to be closer to our customers than the craftspeople of the past; bringing the artisan's life and creative process out of the dark seclusion of the workshop into a shared, intimate experience with our customers.

Teena graduated from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, majoring in Metal Arts in 1995. After graduation she opened a co-operative jewellery studio and fine craft gallery before taking time off to write, then returned to her passion to open Letang Studios.

Stephen is a self-taught jewellery artist who has been designing and producing jewellery since 1992.

The two artisans employ traditional techniques including carving, lost wax casting, hand fabrication, and the lapidary arts; all work is done in studio by the couple, by hand. Their studio is nestled along the banks of the salt water infused, Letang River, leading to the picturesque Bay of Fundy (New Brunswick, Canada). The natural beauty of the area is a constant inspiration in their work.
